
Women’s Hockey Falls to No. 10 Quinnipiac

HAMDEN, Conn. - The Brown women's hockey team was defeated by No. 10 Quinnipiac, 9-1, on Saturday at Frank Perrotti Jr. Arena. Senior Lucinda Quigley (Newton, Mass.) netted the Bears' lone goal in her final collegiate game.
Quinnipiac (18-12-3, 10-9-2 ECAC) built a 4-0 lead in the first 20 minutes of play, starting with three scores in a under a five-minute span. Renee Saltness registered the first and third tally at 9:44 and 14:01, respectively, while Zoe Boyd added the Bobcats' second goal at 12:25. Kati Tabin ended the period's scoring at 18:54.
The Bobcats added three more in the third to take a commanding 6-0 advantage with Sadie Peart closing the stanza with a power-play score at 17:44.
Brown (3-23-3, 2-18-2 ECAC) got on the board at 2:44 of the third when senior Veronica Alois (Andover, Mass.) won the faceoff and passed the puck back to Quigley in the high slot who finished top shelf with a wrister.
Grace Markey added her second of the afternoon at 15:13 for an 8-1 lead while Sarah Coutu-Godbout put one in at 19:32 for the 9-1 final.
In a game of few whistles, Quinnipiac went 1-for-1 on the power play while the Bears were 0-for-1 with their one opportunity coming in the second.
Senior Calla Isaac (Sherwood Park, Alberta) concluded the matchup with 31 saves over the first two periods while sophomore Hayley Kliczko (Niles, Ill.) added 16
stops in the third. Abbie Ives went the distance in the Bobcat net with 14 saves.
