WASHINGTON - Brown women's lacrosse junior attack Risa Mosenthal (Campton, N.H.) was named to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List, announced by the organization on Thursday.
A First Team All-Ivy selection in 2019, Mosenthal has led the Bears in scoring for two-straight seasons and registered 59 points on 51 goals and eight assists a year ago. She broke the school record for goals in a game with nine against Fresno State (Mar. 31), which also tied the Ivy League record. Mosenthal led the conference in goals per game (3.64) and was sixth in points per game (4.21) last season. All-time, her 106 career goals are already fifth best at Brown in just two seasons while her 51 goals in 2019 are third best for a season on College Hill.
As a freshman, Mosenthal was named Second Team All-Ivy and earned a spot on the Inside Lacrosse All-Rookie Team while leading the Bears in points (64) and goals (55). Her 55 goals were second best all-time at Brown for a season while her 64 points are third highest.
The Tewaaraton Award is given annually to the most outstanding American college lacrosse player. The 20th annual Tewaaraton Award Ceremony will be held May 28, 2020 at the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, DC.
