PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's hockey team continues its homestand at Meehan Auditorium and will host Quinnipiac on Friday, Jan. 31 at 6:00 p.m. and No. 6 Princeton on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 3:00 p.m.

SCOUTING THE BOBCATS
Quinnipiac enters Friday having lost three straight, the last to Princeton, 3-2, on home ice this past Tuesday. The Bobcats have notable wins this season against Minnesota Duluth (4-2, Nov. 29) and Harvard (2-1, Jan. 10). Quinnipiac is receiving votes in both the USCHO.com and the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine polls while the Bobcats rank third in the ECAC in save percentage (.931) and goals-against average (1.78). Lexie Adzija leads the team in points (23) with 10 goals and a team-high 13 assists. Sarah-Ève Coutu-Godbout paces the team in goals with 12 and adds five assists to rank second in scoring (17). Abbie Ives has started 22 games between the pipes and has a 1.86 goals-against average, a .930 save percentage and three shutouts for a 10-9-3 record. Logan Angers has started four games and has produced a 1.01 GAA, a .940 save percentage and two shutouts for a 3-1-0 record.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
Princeton is ranked sixth in both the USCHO.com and the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine polls and is unbeaten in its last five games (4-0-1). The Tigers lead the conference in power-play percentage (.257, fifth in the nation) and are second in both goals per game (3.85) and power-play goals (20). Sarah Fillier leads the Tigers in points with 34 on 13 goals and a team-high 21 assists. Her 34 points are second in the ECAC while her 21 assists are third. Fillier is averaging 2.00 points per game (second in the nation) and 1.24 assists per game (third in the nation). Maggie Conners (16-13-29) and Carly Bullock (14-15-29) are tied for second in scoring and are both among the league leaders in scoring, each tied for fourth in points while Conners is second in goals. Conners' 0.79 goals per game is currently fourth in the nation. Three goaltenders have seen action for Princeton with Steph Neatby leading the group in starts (10) while Rachel McQuiggie holds the team-highs in save percentage (.925) and shutouts (2) in eight starts.
BROWN TALKING POINTS
Sophomore Shay Maloney leads the Bears in points (11) with a team-high five goals and six assists. Senior Maybelline Beiring is second in scoring with eight points on one goal and a team-best seven helpers. Beiring recorded a career-high three assists last Saturday against Saint Anselm. Calla Isaac leads the netminding group in games played (15) and a .913 save percentage. The Sherwood Park, Alberta native stopped a career-best 55 shots at Harvard on Nov. 1 and has recorded two shutouts this season (2-0 at RPI, 35 saves), 1-0 vs. Saint Anselm, 25 saves). Isaac has recorded 40 or more saves five times this season and had gone over 30 stops in 11 contests. Sophomore Hayley Kliczko has also seen significant time between the pipes with eight appearances. She registered a season-high 39 saves at Dartmouth on Nov. 2.
LAST TIME OUT
Brown was defeated by Yale, 3-1, on Tuesday at Meehan Auditorium. Junior Kaitijane Blumberg pulled the Bears within one with her score in the second period but the Bulldogs would net an empty net goal at 18:38 of the third to hold on for the win. Senior Calla Isaac finished the night with 36 saves, including nine against the Yale power play. The Bears are now 14-for-14 over their last three games on the penalty kill with their 4-for-4 performance on Tuesday.
KILLER B'S
Senior Maybelline Beiring and junior Kaitijane Blumberg combined for five assists in a 3-3 overtime tie against Saint Anselm on Jan. 25. Both of them assisted on Brown's first two goals, each power-play scores, with Beiring recording the primary on the first, and Blumberg registering the first assist on the second. Beiring then added the second helper on the Bears' third tally in the third period. The three assists for Beiring marked a career best while Blumberg's two tied her collegiate high.
BEARS STARTING TO CLICK ON THE PENALTY KILL
Brown has gone three-straight games without surrendering a power-play goal. The Bears went a combined 10-for-10 on the penalty kill in a two-game series versus Saint Anselm (Jan. 24-25) and went 4-for-4 against Yale on Tuesday (Jan. 28) to improve to 14-for-14.
