Gymnastics’ Costa Gains ECAC Gymnast of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown University gymnastics sophomore Mei Li Costa has earned ECAC Gymnast of the Week honors after matching her own school record on bars in the Bears' home opener this past Sunday, the Eastern College Athletic Conference announced on Wednesday.

A native of Lawrenceville, N.J., Costa took first place on bars with a career-high 9.900, came in third on vault with a season-best 9.700, and added a 9.475 on beam.

Costa helped the Bears score season highs as a team on vault (47.950), bars (48.600), and floor (48.050), while adding a 47.275 on beam. In the team standings, Brown placed second with a season-best 191.875.

Next, Brown competes at Bridgeport with Southern Connecticut State University on Sunday, February 2 at 1:00 p.m.
