PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Head coach Paul Cooke of Brown men's crew has announced the program's schedule for the 2020 spring season. Brown's upcoming campaign includes a trip to the prestigious San Diego Crew Classic as well as a pair of home head-to-head races on the Seekonk River.
The Bears will kick off the spring season on March 28 at Ivy rival and three-time defending national champion Yale in the annual battle for the Albert Cup.
Brown will then head to California to take part in the San Diego Crew Classic (April 4-5) at Mission Bay. The two-day regatta will give the Bears a chance to compete against west coast crews before the IRA National Championship. Yale edged Cal in the first varsity to claim the Copley Cup at the Crew Classic last season.
From there, Brown will head back to Providence to host Harvard on April 11 in the annual meeting for the Stein Cup. The Bears then look to retain the Dreissigacker Cup against Northeastern (April 18), before heading back home to the Seekonk on April 25, to face off against Dartmouth for the Atalanta Cup. Brown will wrap up head-to-head competition at Princeton (May 2) in a race for the Content Cup.
The EARC Eastern Sprints will take place on May 17 on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester before the IRA National Championship (May 29-31) on Mercer Lake in Princeton.
