Gymnastics’ Hansen Earns ECAC Coaches Choice Weekly Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown University gymnastics junior Emma Hansen has earned ECAC Coaches Choice weekly honors after winning the beam title in a quad meet at Bridgeport last weekend, the Eastern College Athletic Conference announced on Wednesday.

A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Hansen took the beam title behind a career-high 9.825 in a quad meet against Bridgeport, Yale, and Rhode Island College. Known as a clutch and poised competitor for the Bears, she also tallied strong performances on floor (9.600) and bars (9.550).

Hansen's leadership helped the Bears post a 190.800 in their second meet of the year, topping Yale (190.375) and RIC (173.825). As a team, Brown scored a 47.975 on floor, 47.825 on beam, 47.600 on vault, and a 47.400 on bars.

Next, Brown hosts the University of Bridgeport and Rhode Island College in its home opener at the Pizzitola Sports Center on Sunday, January 26 at 1:00 p.m.
