ANDOVER, N.H. – The Brown ski team hosted the Brown/Babson Carnival at Proctor Academy on Friday, Jan. 17 and Saturday, Jan. 18 and finished second in both FIS-University slalom races.
"Finishing the weekend with back-to-back second place team results is great for our confidence," said head coach Alex Norden. "We're starting to fine tune our skiing and performance. The women really want to ski faster and are invested in their training and their teammates. I think we're headed in the right direction for the post season."
On Friday, sophomore Alexa Dannis (Hillsdale, N.Y.) led the Bears with a time of 1:39.02 for 19th overall and fourth in the MacConnell Division. Sophomore Avery Vilandrie (Peacham, Vt.) and sophomore Maggie Beardsley (Sandy Hook, Conn.) also placed in the top-10 of the division, with Vilandrie finishing seventh in MacConnell and 23rd overall with a mark of 1:40.48 while Beardsley came in ninth in MacConnell and 17th overall with her time of 1:42.07.
