CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Bretram Rogers (Grand Prairie, Texas) broke his own school record and the Bears racked up six victories as the Brown men's and women's indoor track & field teams competed at the Harvard Multi Meet and Beantown Challenge at Gordon Indoor Track.
Â
The men's team placed fourth out of ten teams with 60 points, while the women's side totaled 71.5 points for third overall.
"It was a strong first meet for us," said head coach Tim Springfield. "Obviously, having Bretram Rogers break his school record and Ijeoma Uche tie her school record was tremendous in our first meet in five weeks. But we had so many athletes step forward with big performances. Zion Lewis was just off her PRs in the 60 and triple jump, and Kennedy Kerr, Lauren Stern, Mike Coppolino, Kegan Schroeter, Noah Korotzer, Zachary Love, and the women's relay all moved themselves onto our all-time top-10 lists. There was some rust evident at times, too, but overall an excellent start."
Â
Harvard Multi Meet
Sophomore Jono Pelusi (Pittsburgh, Pa.) won the heptathlon at the Harvard Multi Meet with a career-best 4810 points. He posted a trio of second-place performances in the 60 meters (7.25), pole vault (14-9) and 1,000 meters (2:43.76).
Â
Rookie Lily Dumas (Holden, Mass.) placed 11th out of 24 competitors in the pentathlon on Friday as she totaled 3,146 points, highlighted by a second-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles (9.00).
