He previously represented the United States at the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil, where he took 11th overall in the men's pair, earning a spot in Rio after a victory in the U.S. Olympic Team Trials.
A four-year standout rower at Brown and a two-time All-Ivy selection, Weiss helped the Bears to a pair of runner-up finishes at the 2013 and 2014 EARC Eastern Sprints. He also rowed in the sixth seat of the varsity boat that earned a silver medal at the 2014 IRA National Championship.
