Brown University baseball head coach Grant Achilles has announced that Kyle Warren has joined the program as an assistant coach.
Â
Warren comes the Brown from The College of New Jersey, where he was an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for two seasons. Warren served as the co-hitting coach with a focus on the infielders and outfielders, and also coached first base. He helped the program to a 62-22 record over two seasons, highlighted by the 2018 conference regular season championship, the 2019 conference tournament championship, and a pair of appearances in the NCAA regionals.
Â
Prior to The College of New Jersey, Warren gained extensive experience in professional baseball, starting as an intern in the community relations and public relations departments for the Baltimore Orioles while attending Towson University. After graduation, he transitioned into various player development roles, working with minor league players and coaches of the New York Mets (2013-14), Atlanta Braves (2015), and Baltimore Orioles (2016). In the spring of 2017 he worked in amateur scouting for the Houston Astros, helping identify players for the MLB Draft in the New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania area.
Â
Warren transitioned to collegiate baseball in the summer of 2017, when he was a coach of the Pineland Starz of the Metropolitan Collegiate Baseball League.
Â
Warren graduated from Towson University with a bachelor's degree in Sport Management.
