PROVIDENCE, R.I. – No. 8 Brown University women's crew hosts Cornell University in its regular season finale on Saturday morning on the Seekonk River with racing beginning at 8:15 a.m.

SENIOR SENDOFF
Saturday's race marks the final home race for the members of Brown's Class of 2019 – Claire Benning (Weston, Mass.), Jessica Levey (Westborough, Mass.), Stacy Neul (Plymouth, Mass.), Sophie Paine (Freeport, Bahamas), Valerie Rico (Queens, N.Y.), Amy Tarczynski (Oakland, Calif.), and Keenae Tiersma (Woodinville, Wash.).
LAST TIME OUT
Brown swept the NCAA races – the A varsity four, second varsity eight, and first varsity eight – and added a win in the third varsity eight against then-No. 15 Radcliffe on Saturday, Apr. 20 on the Seekonk River. Competing in their home opener, the Bears took the last four races of the day, beginning with the 3V8 and proceeding through the AV4, 2V8, and 1V8 against the Black & White. Brown improved to 23-4 all-time against Radcliffe – the women's crew program at Harvard University.
IN THE POLLS
Brown checks in at No. 8 in the latest CRCA/USRowing Coaches Poll. Other Ivy League schools represented in the poll include No. 7 Princeton, No. 9 Yale, and No. 13 Radcliffe. Washington holds the No. 1 spot in the poll ahead of No. 2 Stanford, No. 3 California, No. 4 Texas, No. 5 Michigan, and No. 6 Ohio State.
In the Region 1 Rankings from Apr. 24, Brown stands second as a team, second in the first varsity eight, third in the second varsity eight, and first in the A varsity four. Princeton tops the rankings in the team and 1V8 categories while Yale leads the region in the 2V8 rankings.
THE PREVIOUS CORNELL MEETING
No. 11 Brown won all six races at Cornell University with Navy on Saturday, Apr. 21, 2018 on the Cayuga Lake Inlet, retaining the Dunn Bowl in the match-up with the host Big Red. The Bears claimed victories in the NCAA events – the first varsity eight, second varsity eight, and A varsity four – and also captured wins in the third varsity eight, B varsity four, and C varsity four.
THE CORNELL SERIES
Brown holds a 26-0 all-time record against Cornell, competing in the Dunn Bowl – a trophy which began in 1993.
BRUNO AGAINST IVIES
The Bears have competed against four other Ivy League schools this spring, facing off against Princeton, Yale, Dartmouth, and Radcliffe. Brown topped Princeton in the AV4, BV4, and 3V8 while falling in the 1V8 and 2V8. Against Yale, the Bears swept the NCAA events (1V8, 2V8, AV4) and added a victory in the 3V8. Brown took all four races (1V8, 2V8, AV4, BV4) from Dartmouth and swept the NCAA events from Radcliffe, tacking on a win in the 3V8.
COMING SOON
After racing Cornell, Brown will compete at the 2019 Ivy League Championship at Cooper River Park in Pennsauken, N.J., on Sunday, May 19 with heats starting at 8:00 a.m. and finals beginning at 2:00 p.m.
