No. 9 Women's Crew Competes on Day 1 of 2026 Ivy Championships

PENNSAUKEN, N.J. - No. 9 women's crew wrapped up the first day of competition at the 2026 Ivy Championship at Cooper River Park late this afternoon, turning in strong performances across the board.Â
The Bears had four boats racing today and all four crews secured spots in their respective Grand Finals tomorrow morning. Â
The Varsity Eight, coxed by Summer Balla-Kellett and stroked by Sydney Chait-Walter, earned a second place finish in their heat with a final time of 6:11.229. They finished 3.876 seconds behind first place Princeton, who crossed the finish line in 6:07.353.
The Second Varsity, coxed by Caitlyn Roddy and stroked by Isla Wilding, also finished in second place after posting a final time of 6:10.224 in what proved to be one of the closest finishes of the day for the Bears. The Yale Bulldogs finished in first place with a time of 6:09.329, narrowly defeating Brown by 0.895 seconds.
The Third Varsity, coxed by Katherine Mitchell and stroked by Olivia Tingley-Kelley, crossed the finish line with a time of 6:39.924. That result was good enough for a second place finish, trailing first place Yale by 3.756 seconds and edging out third place Princeton by 0.289 seconds.Â
The A4, coxed by Brooke Halvorsen and stroked by Calissa Snyder-Cox, earned a third place finish with a time of 7:09.149.
Championship races are scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. tomorrow and will be aired live on ESPN+.Â
