PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's 4x100 meter relay team set a school record as both the men's and women's programs competed at the UMass Minuteman Invitational and the Princeton Sam Howell Invitational over the weekend.
Â
"To get a school record in the 4x100 so early in the season is tremendous, and a credit to the great work by Coach Hunt and the sprints squad--putting together a successful 4x100 when you first move outdoors in April is not an easy task," said head coach Tim Springfield.

UMass Minuteman Invitational
The Bears racked up ten victories at the UMass Invite, led by the women's 4x100 meter relay team of Zion Lewis (Canton, Ga.), Sydney Scott (Charlotte, N.C.), Kennedy Kerr (West Hempstead, N.Y.) and May Stern (Providence, R.I.) in a record-breaking time of 45.91, breaking the previous record of 46.31 set last season.
Â
The women's 4x400 relay of Gwenyth Winship (Bedford, N.Y.), Barakat, Gracie Whelan (Charlotte, N.C.) and Stern, and the men's 4x400 relay of Kevin Boyce (Columbus, Ohio), Derek Davey (Elkhorn, Wis.), Nik Zemis (New Philadelphia, Ohio) and Calvin Perkins (Belmont, Mass.) also earned wins at 3:49.35 and 3:18.80, respectively.
