Baseball Welcomes Dartmouth for Weekend Series

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown baseball team will look to keep it going in Ivy League play this weekend when the Bears play host to Dartmouth in a three-game set at Attanasio Family Field at Murray Stadium. Saturday's doubleheader will start at 11:30 AM before Sunday's finale at noon. All three games will be broadcast on ESPN+.

Leading Off
- Brown heads into the Dartmouth series on a four-game winning streak in conference play after a road sweep at Cornell last weekend.
- Brown is 5-4 in the Ivy League after three weekends of league action and is currently tied for fourth place in the standings as the top five teams are separated by just one game.
- Willy Homza heads into the weekend on a 16-game reached base streak. He leads the Bears with 30 walks, including ten in league games, and has a .463 on-base percentage.
- Mark Sluys hit his team-best fifth home run of the season against Bryant on Wednesday. He also leads the Bears with a .495 slugging percentage.
- Joe Lomuscio has 12 multiple-hit games this season and also leads the team with a trio of three-hit efforts. He put together a seven-game hitting streak during the season.

Last Time Out
- Brown swept Cornell on the road last weekend to extend its conference win streak to four games.
- The Bears received excellent starting pitching in the series. Garett Delano, Collin Garner and Will Tomlinson totaled 22.2 innings and combined for a 1.19 ERA. All three pitchers went at least seven innings and Garner led the way with 8.2 innings of work for a 2-1 victory. The three pitchers issued just three walks and two extra-base hits with 12 strikeouts.
- Tomlinson also came in for the final out in game two on Saturday to pick up the save.
- In addition to his performance on the mound, Delano also paced the Bears at the plate in the series, as he went 5-for-12 (.417) with four runs scored.
- Mark Sluys continued to hit for power in the middle of the lineup as he led the way with four RBIs and a .692 slugging percentage.

Scouting Dartmouth
- Dartmouth is 3-6 in the Ivy League heading into the fourth weekend of league play.
- Dartmouth has dropped its last five games and was swept by Penn in a three-game series last weekend.
- Ubaldo Lopez leads the Big Green with a .338 overall bating average and is second on the team with a .343 clip in league games. The sophomore has a team-high three home runs in addition to 17 RBIs and nine doubles.
- Dartmouth is hitting .299 as a team in Ivy games and is ranked second with 87 runs scored, 112 hits and 29 doubles.

- Dartmouth claimed two of three games in Hanover last season, including a 2-1 win in 13 innings to close out the series.
