ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Brown women's lacrosse team was defeated by No. 12 Navy, 18-12, on Saturday at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. After the Midshipmen gained a 11-5 lead after one half of play, the Bears fought back to trail by just three (13-10) in the second but were unable to get closer as Navy pulled away with a 5-2 scoring advantage the rest of the way.
"It was a great fight against a strong Navy team," said head coach Keely McDonald. "I liked how we adjusted for the second half. I am excited for the week of practice with this group."
Sophomore Risa Mosenthal (Campton, N.H.) paced the Bears offensively with four goals and two assists, her third-straight game with at least a hat trick, while freshman Alaina Parisella (Chatham, N.J.) contributed two goals and one helper.

A goal by junior KC Williams (Duxbury, Mass.) stopped the scoring drought for Brown but the Mids again strung a bunch of goals together, this time with four for a 10-4 lead.
Mosenthal added her second at 1:08 while Navy's Kelly Larkin concluded the scoring in the stanza for an 11-5 lead.
