
A Look Back at the 2025 Women’s Lacrosse Season

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The 2025 Brown women's lacrosse season was filled with remarkable achievements and unforgettable moments. Led by second-year head coach Katrina Dowd, the Bears solidified their place in Brown Athletics history as the program tied the single-season mark with 10 victories for the second-straight season.
Historic Season Part II
Brown reached its highest-ever national ranking with No. 17 while earning 10 wins for the second-straight season under Katrina Dowd. The Bears retained the Ocean State Cup with a 14-10 win over Bryant (April 8).
Brown's 143 assists were the most in a single season in program history, and its 244 goals matched the most in program history (2024). The Bears' 387 total points and 541 total shots were the most in a single season in program history.
Program Firsts
Brown's 14-11 win over Yale (Mar. 22) was the highest ranked win in program history. The Bears qualified for its first-ever Ivy League Tournament and NCAA Tournament.
National Rankings
The Bears concluded the 2025 campaign ranking fifth nationally with 8.41 assists per game and sixth with 11.76 turnovers per game. Brown's 22.76 points per game ranked fifth nationally and its scoring offense ranked 20th nationally with 14.35 goals per game. The Bears' clearing percentage ranked 15th nationally with a 92 percent success rate on clears.
Individually, Annie Burton ranked sixth nationally with 3.35 assists per game and eighth nationally with 3.35 assists per game. Greta Criqui ranked ninth nationally with a 58.6 shooting percentage.
Individual Honors
The Bears had four players garner All-Ivy honors as Burton was named First Team All-Ivy, Criqui and Codi Johnson earned Second Team All-Ivy. Maddie Joyce was named Honorable Mention All-Ivy.
Burton was named a Second Team USA Lacrosse All-American and an Inside Lacrosse Honorable Mention All-American. Burton was also named Second Team IWLCA All-Northeast Region Second Team with Johnson.
Record Breakers
Burton broke the program's single season assists mark with 57, she also finished her career second all-time in program history with 107 assists and fourth all-time with 172 points. Criqui concluded her career with 113 goals, which ranks fifth in program history and 13th in program history with 128 career points.
Paige Gillen departs Brown third in program history with 154 draw controls.
