
Women’s Lacrosse Hosts Bryant on Wednesday at 3:00 PM

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's lacrosse team will host Bryant on Wednesday, March 6 at Stevenson-Pincince starting at 3:00 p.m. for the Ocean State Cup. The game, originally scheduled for 6:00 p.m., was moved earlier to 3:00 p.m. due to low temperatures in the forecast. The contest will be streamed live on ESPN+.

BEAR LEADERS
Sophomore Risa Mosenthal leads the Bears in both goals and points with 19 goals and three assists on the year for 22 points. Mosenthal is currently tied for fifth in the nation in goals per game (4.75) while she is also tied for ninth in points per game (5.50). Sophomore Maggie Fowler ranks second in the scoring column with six goals and a team-best nine assists for 15 points. Defensively, sophomore Mason Warble has a team-high nine caused turnovers. Senior Caroline Zaffino leads Brown in draw controls with 20, tying her career high of 10 at Iona on Feb. 23. In net, Erin Tucker has started all four games and has put together a 10.92 goals-against average and a .481 save percentage.
LAST TIME OUT
Brown fell in its last contest, its Ivy League opener, at Dartmouth, 15-11, on Saturday, March 2. The Big Green jumped out to an 8-5 advantage after the first half and led by as many as seven in the second while fighting off a late Bear comeback for the victory. Junior Emma DeGennaro led the Bears with four goals on the day while sophomore Risa Mosenthal netted a hat trick. Freshmen Claire Jeschke and Alaina Parisella each added two goals while sophomore Maggie Fowler had a career-high five assists. Freshman Erin Tucker concluded the game with 13 saves, a career-high.
ALL-TIME VS. BRYANT
The Bears hold the series advantage with an 9-1 record. Brown won last year's meeting, 15-14, in Smithfield, R.I. on March 7 while Bryant picked up its lone win of the series in 2017, 9-8, at Stevenson-Pincince Field on March 8.
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
Bryant is 0-2 so far this season, opening with a 24-4 loss against UMass (Feb. 15) and a 21-11 defeat at Albany (Feb. 26). Jess DeMeo leads the team in goals with three and is tied with Meredith James (2G, 1A) for the squad's lead in points (3). Goaltending duties have been split with Brianna Blatter and Giana Kapoosuzian each receiving a start with Kapoosuzian leading the duo with a .318 save percentage.
