PRINCETON, N.J. – The Brown women's lacrosse team overcame a 9-2 deficit and went on a 10-2 run the rest of the way to defeat No. 9 Princeton, 12-11, on Saturday at Sherrerd Field at Class of 1952 Stadium. The Bears hand the Tigers their first Ivy loss of the season while improving to 4-4 on the year and 2-1 in the Ivy League while Princeton moves to 5-2 overall and 1-1 in conference play.
"It was an awesome team effort," said head coach Keely McDonald. "I'm really proud of how we battled back from being down. We fought on all parts of the field-defense, draw, offense. I am excited for practice as we travel to Florida tomorrow."
Trailing 9-2 in the first half, Brown came charging back to take a 10-9 lead at the break with eight-straight goals. After an offensive heavy first, it took 11 minutes for the Bears to open the scoring in the second, with sophomore Risa Mosenthal (Campton, N.H.) getting Brown back on the board at 19:36. Freshman Claire Jeschke (Syracuse, N.Y.) added a goal at 12:26 and the Bears held the Tigers to just two goals for the remainder (11:36 and 10:42) to hold on for the victory.

Senior Zoe Verni (Mamaroneck, N.Y.) added three scores while junior KC Williams (Duxbury, Mass.) contributed two. In net, freshman Erin Tucker (Centerport, N.Y.) came up with 10 saves, including six stops in the second. It is her sixth game this year with double-digit saves.

In the low scoring second, Mosenthal and Jeschke netted scores at 19:36 and 12:26 to increase Brown's advantage to 12-9.
