BLACKSBURG, Va. - The Brown men's tennis team was defeated by Virginia Tech, 4-0, at Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center on Friday.
"We had several quality opportunities today against a very good ACC opponent in Virginia Tech," said head coach Tim Gray. "I saw tremendous fight and grit from several of our guys, but to win matches like these we need it from everyone. We will learn from today and come out ready on Sunday."
Sophomore Ching Lam (Sai Kung, Hong Kong) and junior Jacob Walker (Bethesda, Md.) opened the day with a 6-4 win in second doubles but Virginia Tech would go on take the round by winning the first and third doubles matches.
The Hokies claimed the singles round with wins in sixth, first and third singles. Freshman Roger Chou (Austin, Texas) put up a good fight in his third singles match but fell 6-4, 7-5.
The Bears will remain in Virginia and will next compete at William & Mary on Sunday, Feb. 10 at 11:00 a.m.
