The 12thranked Brown women's squash team traveled to Williamstown, Mass., to face #13 Williams on Wednesday evening and came away with a 6-3 win over the Ephs, extending its overall record to 8-5 on the season.
"That was hard work!," said Bears head coach Stuart leGassick. "Williams were tenacious and ran hard. It took a while for us to settle- but we pulled through."
The Bears captured three of the top four matches with sophomore Alexa Jacobs leading the way with a grueling five game decision. Junior Hannah Seckendorf pulled out a 3-1 win at number three and freshman Abagail Dichter won, 3-1, at number four.
Freshman Isabella Kearns stepped up at number six with a 3-1 decision, followed by junior Scarlett Bergam at seven and sophomore Katherine Kimmel at eight, who both earned 3-0 victories.
Brown closes out its regular season this weekend, traveling to Hanover, NH to face Dartmouth on Friday evening and then back home on Saturday afternoon, February 9 to host Harvard at the Pizzitola Sports Center, starting at 1pm.
