
Women's Squash Announces Team Awards, Captains and Incoming Recruits for 2024

Providence, RI - The Brown Women's squash team has presented its annual team awards for the 2019-2020 season, named their incoming captains for the 2020-2021 season, and announced the incoming Class of 2024.
There were several awards received, including the Best Record at the Howe Cup Team Nationals, which went to junior Alexa Jacobs, who went 2-1 with wins against Dartmouth and Williams at #1.
Freshman Dani Benstock won the Most Improved Player award; the Melucci-Morphy Award was earned by senior Hannah Seckendorf; and the Kate Brodsky Award was given to senior Scarlett Bergam.
Five players received CSA Scholar-Athlete Awards, given to juniors and seniors who have played in 50% or more of the matches and have a 3.5 GPA or better. Earning CSA Scholar-Athlete Awards were seniors Isabel Young, Hannah Seckendorf and Scarlett Bergam, and Juniors Catherine Kimmel and Alexa Jacobs.
Head coach Stuart leGassick also announced that rising seniors Catherine Kimmel and Alexa Jacobs will captain the team in the 2020-2021 season.
The team and coaches appreciate the seniors - Isabel Young, Hannah Seckendorf and Scarlett Bergam - for their wonderful leadership and contributions to the Squash team over their four years on College Hill.
The Bears are looking forward to the arrival on campus of two freshmen who will add greatly to the Brown squash family - Lily Seckendorf (New York, NY) from the Horace Mann School and Rachel Mashek (Rosemont, PA) from the Agnes Irwin School.
