
Women’s Hockey Falls to No. 9 Colgate, 4-0

HAMILTON, N.Y. - The Brown women's hockey team was defeated by No. 9 Colgate, 4-0, on Saturday at Class of 1965 Rink. The Raiders scored twice in the first period and once in both the second and third to secure the victory.
"Both goalies played really well today, it was great to see them step up and make some big saves," said head coach Carisa Wahlig.
Shae Labbe got the scoring going for Colgate (19-8-5, 13-4-3 ECAC) at 1:15 of the opening period while Bailey Larson later made it 2-0 at 11:43 with a power-play goal. Freshman Hayley Kliczko (Niles, Ill.) finished the frame with 15 saves. Brown (5-20-2, 2-16-2 ECAC) was 0-for-1 on the power play while Colgate was 1-for-2.
Coralie Larose gave the Raiders a 3-0 advantage at 3:44 of the second while junior Calla Isaac (Sherwood Park, Alberta) made 10 stops while playing in the stanza. Both teams went 0-for-1 in the period on special teams.
Colgate increased its lead to four soon into the third at 1:45 with a tally by Eleri MacKay. The Bears shutout the Raiders in the period on the power play and were 2-for-2 on the penalty kill, but were 0-for-2 on its own power-play chances.
Isaac concluded the contest with 21 saves in two periods of play while Julia Vandyk finished with 10 saves in the opposing net.
Overall, Colgate was 1-for-4 on the power play while Brown was 0-for-3 on its chances.
Freshman Lizzy Gross (Scarborough, Maine), junior Sena Hanson (New Brighton, Minn.) and freshman Shay Maloney (McHenry, Ill.) all recorded two shots for the Bears.
Brown will next close out the season by hosting Harvard on Friday, Feb. 22 and Dartmouth on Saturday, Feb. 23. Friday's games versus the Crimson will start at 6:00 p.m. while Saturday's contest will begin at 3:00 p.m. Prior to Saturday's game, Brown will honor its four seniors.
Video of all Brown women's hockey home contests and all ECAC games, home and away, will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
