Throughout the month of February, Brown Athletics will celebrate Black History Month through the "28 Days of Black at Brown" series. Each day during the month, the Bears will recognize African Americans who have made an impact on the university community and beyond.

An outstanding tight end for the Bears, Steve Jordan '82 earned First Team All-Ivy accolades in both 1980 and 1981. Over the course of the career, he gained All-New England twice, First Team All-ECAC, and Honorable Mention All-America honors. He still ranks third in program history for career average yards per reception (17.97). A seventh-round draft pick of the NFL's Minnesota Vikings in 1982, he played his entire career with the Vikings from 1982-94. A 1989 Second Team All-Pro, he garnered selection into six straight Pro Bowls from 1986-91. He finished his NFL career with 498 receptions, 6,307 receiving yards, and 28 receiving touchdowns.
