Butler Set for NCAA XC Championship on Saturday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Junior Hannah Butler (Dewitt, N.Y.) of the Brown women's cross country team is ready to compete at the NCAA Cross Country Championship on Saturday at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Indiana.

The women's 6K race will start at 11:15 AM, followed by the men's race at 12:15 PM. FloTrack will provide subscription-based live video coverage of the championship. Hosted by Indiana State, this is the 13th NCAA Championship at LaVern Gibson Cross Country Course since 2002.

Butler placed third overall out of 268 total runners at the Northeast Regional to punch her ticket to the NCAA Championship as an individual qualifier. She finished the 6-kilometer road course in a time of 19:33.4 and earned All-Region honors.

Butler, a Second Team All-Ivy selection, is the program's first cross country runner to qualify for nationals since Natalie Schudrowitz in 2015.

She is one of just four men's and women's runners from the Ivy League to earn an individual bid to nationals.
