
Cross Country Competes at Ivy League Heps

BRONX, N.Y. - The Brown cross country programs competed at the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx on Friday, where the women's team took home seventh place and the men finished eighth.
Princeton captured both the men's and women's team titles. It was the fifth consecutive league title for the men and the second straight for the women. Brown's women's team totaled 169 points, while the men finished with 217 points.
For Brown, the men were led by junior Sebastian Margetts who finished 24th overall out of 88 runners. The women were led by none other than senior Nimrit Ahuja, who placed 25th overall out of 91 runners.
In the men's race, Margetts finished 24th overall with a time of 25:32.4. Sophomore Colin Fisher finished second on the team and 47th overall with a time of 25:55.5. Senior John Farrell (62nd/26:22.9), freshman Benjy Street (67th/26:42.5), and junior Matt Wing (71st/26:53.4) scored points in the team's top five, while junior Matthew Doherty (73rd/26:59.1) and sophomore Luke Bodden (77th/27:12.8) rounded out the top seven.
On the women's side, Ahuja finished first for Brown and 25th overall with a time of 21:59.6. Junior Olivia Fraga followed, finishing second for the Bears and 36th overall with a time of 22:16.5. Senior Emily Mrakovcic (38th/22:17.8), senior Julia Schriefer (39th/22:18.5), and freshman Charlotte Murphy (42nd/22:27.4) rounded out the top five, with sophomore Ariana Thiel-Hadjilambrinos (53rd/22:46.5), and senior Sara Perez (70th/23:34.9) finishing sixth and seventh, respectively.
Brown will now set its sights on the NCAA Northeast Regional meet on Friday, November 14, in Hopkinton, New Hampshire.
