Men’s Tennis Concludes Dartmouth Invitational

HANOVER, N.H. - The Brown men's tennis team ended play at the Dartmouth Invitational on Sunday. Players from Boston University, Bryant, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard and Yale joined the Bears in the three-day tournament at the Boss Tennis Center.
Day one saw freshmen Niraj Komatineni (Mason, Ohio) and Matthew Mu (La Jolla, Calif.) team up for a 6-2 win in doubles while Komatineni also posted a singles victory, 6-4, 4-6, 10-8. Junior Teddy van Eck (Rye, N.Y.) was the second Bear to register a singles win, taking his match 6-3, 6-1.
On Saturday, Komatineni and Mu won both their doubles matches against Dartmouth teams, with a 6-3 and 6-1 showing. Sophomore Roger Chou (Austin, Texas) and van Eck also picked up a doubles win (6-3). Van Eck recorded his second-straight singles win in the tournament, going the distance in his singles match, 4-6, 6-4, 10-6, while Chou also won his match, 6-3, 6-3.
The final day saw Chou (6-1,6-3) and Komatineni (2-0 RET). Pick up wins in the lone singles round.
Brown next competes at the ITA East Regional Thursday, Oct. 17 through Monday, Oct. 21 in Philadelphia at Penn.
