
Lau, Perry Earn Brown Student-Athlete of the Week Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Women's tennis freshman Britany Lau and football junior quarterback EJ Perry have earned Brown University Athletics Student-Athlete of the Week honors for the week of Oct. 21-27, Brown announced on Monday.

Britany Lau, Women's Tennis, Freshman, Kinnelon, N.J.
Freshman Britany Lau advanced to the quarterfinals of the ITA East Regional last week, competing at the Malek Tennis Center. A native of Kinnelon, N.J., Lau tallied four consecutive victories in singles play to reach the quarters. She opened the tournament with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Cornell. The following day, she notched a 7-5, 6-3 win over Dartmouth in the round of 64 and a 6-4, 6-2 win over Syracuse in the round of 32. Lau continued her run with a 6-2, 4-0, retired win over Boston College in the round of 16 before bowing out to Yale, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 in the quarterfinals.

Junior quarterback EJ Perry compiled 463 yards of total offense as the Bears dropped a narrow 37-35 decision at Cornell on Saturday at Schoellkopf Field. His 463 yards marked the sixth-most in a single season in school history. A native of Andover, Mass., Perry completed 32-of-48 passes for 372 yards and three touchdowns, while adding 91 rushing yards on 21 carries. He led the Bears to four scoring drives in the second half, helping Brown take a 35-34 lead with 4:17 remaining.
