PROVIDENCE, R.I. – First year women's hockey head coach Carisa Wahlig has announced the addition of Melissa Paluch and Jordin Pardoski as assistant coaches to complete the program's staff on Thursday.
Paluch comes to College Hill after spending two seasons with Wahlig at Lake Forest following a standout playing career with the Foresters. In her time as an assistant, Paluch helped the Foresters record a program best 21 victories in 2016-17 while the team's scoring offense was ranked in the top-5 in each of her two seasons.
As a student-athlete, Paluch is Lake Forest's career leader in assists with 56 and ranks third with 102 points. Her 46 goals are the sixth-highest total in team history and her 12 power play scores are tied for fifth. Paluch was a three-year captain and two-time winner of Lake Forest's Ry McCarthy Award. She was voted the team's Most Valuable Player as a freshman and was also an Honorable Mention All-Northern Collegiate Hockey Association selection and NCHA All-Rookie Team honoree that year.
Pardoski most recently spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Elmira College. The Soaring Eagles went an impressive 43-9-6 in her two years, which included a 25-3-2 showing and a NCAA Division III title game appearance in 2017-18.
Prior to Elmira, Pardoski had a brief stint at Colgate as a volunteer assistant coach where she assisted with various aspects of player development, team travel, program outreach and on-campus recruiting.
Pardoski was a four-year letter winner at Penn State, where she earned a bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Studies. Pardoski captained the Nittany Lions in three of her four years with the program, serving as an assistant in 2013-14, before taking over co-captain responsibilities in her junior and senior seasons. In 143 career appearances, Pardoski logged 25 points on eight goals and 17 assists as a defender. At the conclusion of her senior season, Pardoski was honored with a trio of academic awards, including Big Ten Distinguished Scholar, All-Big Ten Academic Team and All-CHA Academic Team accolades.
