The Bears, ranked No. 15 in the final CWPA poll of 2017, open their season with the Bruno Classic from Sept. 1-2, while later taking part in the Princeton Invitational, Harvard Invitational, and the Julian Fraser Memorial Tournament at Santa Clara. Brown will host the 2018 edition of the Northeast Water Polo Conference Championship at the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center.
Brown will play in 10 NWPC games during the regular season, squaring off in home-and-homes with Harvard, Princeton, St. Francis Brooklyn, Iona, and MIT.
The program begins competition at the seventh annual Bruno Classic, hosting the event from Sept. 1-2 and meeting Austin College, Pacific, Bucknell, UC Davis, and Pepperdine. Pacific, UC Davis, and Pepperdine all concluded the 2017 season ranked in the top 10 nationally. The Bears will play at the Princeton Invitational the following weekend (Sept. 8-9).
The Bears will then travel to the state of Texas for a re-match with Austin College – a program entering its first season of varsity play in the fall – on Sept. 15.
Brown begins NWPC play away from home with road match-ups at St. Francis Brooklyn (Sept. 29), at Princeton (Sept. 29), and at Iona (Sept. 30). The team completes the first half of conference play with games at Harvard and at MIT on Oct. 6 prior to hosting Princeton on Oct. 7.
Breaking from conference play, the Bears will compete at the Harvard Invitational (Oct. 13-14) and the Julian Fraser Memorial Tournament (Oct. 19-21) at Santa Clara. As part of the Harvard Invitational, Brown will face Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, Toronto, Wagner, and Bucknell.
Completing the regular season, Brown hosts four NWPC games. The Bears will take on Iona and St. Francis Brooklyn on Oct. 28 and square off with MIT and Harvard on Nov. 3. The program will honor its seniors as part of the contest with the Engineers.
Brown will host the 2018 Northeast Water Polo Conference Championship from Nov. 16-18 at the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center with the winner of the tournament claiming the league's automatic berth into the NCAA Championships.
