
Gymnastics Places Third at Bridgeport Quad with 192.600

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Brown University gymnastics placed third with a 192.600 in a quad meet at the University of Bridgeport with Yale and Centenary on Saturday night at the Wheeler Recreation Center.
In the team standings, Yale won the meet with a 194.650, host Bridgeport came in second with a 194.275, the Bears finished third with their 192.600, and Centenary placed fourth with a 190.000.
As a team, the Bears tied their season high on vault (48.275) while scoring a 47.625 on bars, 48.325 on beam, and 48.375 on floor.
On vault, freshman Alyssa Gardner (Angola, N.Y.) led the Bears with a 9.700 while junior Julia Green (Exton, Pa.) and sophomore Anne Christman (Amherst, N.H.) each tallied a 9.675. Junior Gabrielle Hechtman (Bellmore, N.Y.) and freshman Kate Nelson (Montara, Calif.) posted a 9.650 and 9.575 respectively.
Senior Anya Olson (Farmington Hills, Mich.) paced the Bears on bars with a 9.700, and senior Claire Ryan (Greenwood, Minn.) registered a 9.600. Sophomore Erin Howell (Egg Harbor Township, N.J.) and freshman Caroline Warren (Pawleys Island, S.C.) notched a 9.525 apiece. Freshman Emma Hansen (Cincinnati, Ohio) rounded out the scoring with a 9.275.
On beam, senior Regan Butchness (Barrington, Ill.) posted the Bears' top score with a 9.775 while junior Cassidy Jung (San Marino, Calif.) tied her season high with a 9.700. Freshman Rose Domonoske (Park City, Utah) charted a 9.650, and Green and Hansen each recorded a 9.600.
Green led Brown on floor with a 9.775, and Christman posted a 9.725. Senior Anya Barca-Hall (Santa Cruz, Calif.) tallied a 9.650, Olson scored a 9.625, and Nelson and senior Maggie McAvoy (Charlotte, N.C.) each tallied a 9.600. Nelson made her collegiate debut on floor.
Next, Brown competes at the ECAC Championship on Saturday, Mar. 24 at noon at the University of Pennsylvania.
