Dom Starsia '74 Makes Professional Coaching Debut For Cannons
Providence, R.I. - In its final tune-up for the start of the 2018 season, the Brown men's lacrosse team will scrimmage the Boston Cannons on Sunday, February 11, starting at 11:00 am at Stevenson-Pincince Field. The game will mark the professional coaching debut of Cannon's assistant coach and lacrosse icon Dom Starsia '74, the former head coach at both Brown and the University of Virginia.
Coach Mike Daly's Brown men's lacrosse team has forged a partnership with the Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF) for the Cannons scrimmage on Sunday. Admission will be free, but fans are asked to consider a donation. There will also be autograph opportunities.
The SOWF supports the families of fallen and wounded special operations personnel. The Bears and Cannons are raising awareness and funds for Special Operations Warrior Foundation, a top-rated nonprofit organization that provides college educations to the surviving children of America's elite Special Operations Forces, who lose their lives in the line of duty. Special Operations Warrior Foundation provides funding for tuition, books, fees, room & board, computer and printer, as well as, fully-funded professional tutoring from kindergarten through college graduation. SOWF also provides immediate financial assistance to the families of severely wounded special operations personnel. When tragedy strikes, SOWF is there for the families of our fallen and wounded Special Ops personnel.
Help the Bears and Cannons reach their goal of raising $10,000 for SOWF by clicking here to donate.
