Brown at a Glance
The men's team placed eighth at the Ivy Championship last season, while Princeton captured the team championship for the third straight season.
Zack Emrich will look to claim the 500-meter title for the third straight season, while Zachary Lanigan heads into the meet with the second-best time in the 800 meters and 1,000 meters among Ivy League runners. Martin Martinez will headline Brown's distance group after he broke the four-minute mile barrier (3:59.38) at the BU Valentine Invitational. He also owns the top 3,000-meter time in the league heading into Heps.
In the field, Jason Katz leads the Ivy League field in the long jump, while Ryan Laudermilk (high jump), Nigel Despinasse (shot put) and Owen Russell (weight throw) will look to challenge for top points in their respective events.
The women's side placed seventh in the team standings at Heps last season, while Harvard captured first place for the fifth straight season.
Brown will turn to Zion Lewis and May Stern to lead the group of sprinters, while Lewis will also seek to add points in the triple jump after a leap of 40-10.5 at the BU Invitational. Clare Peabody will pace the distance group on the track, as she is currently third in the 1,000 meters among Ivy League participants.
Carly Paul has put together an outstanding indoor season, including a school record in the long jump and the program's second-best score in the pentathlon, and will look to carry over that success into championship weekend.
