Kauffman Joins Baseball as Assistant Coach

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown University baseball head coach Grant Achilles has announced that Cody Kauffman has joined the program as an assistant coach.

Kauffman most recently served as the associate head coach and recruiting coordinator at Franklin Pierce, where he assisted in all aspects of the program for the six-time regional champions.

Kauffman, who returned for his second stint at Franklin Pierce, helped the Ravens to a 66-30-1 record over the past two seasons, including an appearance in the 2018 NCAA Tournament. He played an active role in recruiting, scouting and budget operations, working primary with the hitters and catchers at practice.

He also has experience on the professional level, as he most recently served as an assistant coach for the Women's National Team in the summers of 2017 and 2018. Kauffman was the general manager of the U12 National Team in 2015 and the coordinator of the Collegiate National Team in 2014. He also worked with the Chicago Cubs as the Minor League Video Coordinator of Baseball Operations.

In his first stint as an assistant coach at Franklin Pierce, Kaufman coached the outfielders and hitters, and also directed baseball operations for the New England Ravens AAU program.

As a player, Kauffman was a two-time Rawlings Gold Glove recipient in two seasons at Franklin Pierce, helping the Ravens capture the 2010 NCAA East Regional title. He put together a standout senior season, playing primarily second base, when he ranked fourth in the conference in doubles and was named to the East Regional All-Tournament team. He also played two seasons at UMass Amherst.

A native of Blue Bell, Pa., Kauffman earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Management and a Master's in Business Administration in Leadership from Franklin Pierce.
