
Schiller Scores, Men’s Soccer Ousted at Dartmouth, 4-1

HANOVER, N.H. – Junior Daniel Schiller (Glenview, Ill.) scored an early goal for the Brown men's soccer team, but the Bears fell at Dartmouth, 4-1, in the regular season finale on Saturday at Burnham Field.
Brown concluded its season at 8-8-1 overall and 2-5-0 in the Ivy League. Dartmouth moved to 7-5-5, 4-1-2.
Rookie James Swomley (Newton, Mass.) posted four saves and allowed three goals in the start, before Maxwell Waldau (Fort Myers, Fla.) turned away three shots and allowed one goal in the second half. Chris Palacios earned the win in goal for the Big Green.
Brown scored on the first shot of the game when Schiller found the back of the net in the fifth minute of play, using a long shot to beat Palacios for his fourth goal of the season. Schiller extended his team lead in scoring with 13 points, while rookie Derek Waleffe (Madison, Wis.) earned his second assist in as many games.
Dartmouth scored three goals to close out the opening half. After Eduvie Ikoba evened the score at 17:26 on a shot inside the box, Braden Salvati notched the go-ahead goal in the 33rd minute. Dawson McCartney added another tally in the 42nd minute to give the home side a two-goal advantage at halftime.
Dartmouth extended its lead in the 85th minute when Ikoba knocked in a rebound for his second goal of the game to secure the win for the Big Green.
Dartmouth led in shots, 15-7, and held a slim edge in corner kicks, 3-2.
