Men’s Tennis Wraps Up Dartmouth Invitational

HANOVER, N.H. - The Brown men's tennis team concluded play in the Dartmouth Invitational on Sunday at the Boss Tennis Center. In addition to the host school, Buffalo, Boston University, Harvard and Yale joined the Bears in the tournament.

Senior Charles Tan (Austin, Texas) opened Friday with a hard fought 5-7, 7-5, 6-4 win to reach the semifinals of Flight A1. He would fall the following day and advanced to the consolation final, but was defeated by Dartmouth, 6-1, 6-2.

After a first match loss, junior Jacob Walker (Bethesda, Md.) battled back and made it to the consolation final of Flight A2, but was defeated 6-3, 6-4.

Junior Peter Litsky (St. Petersburg, Fla.) posted a 7-6, 7-5 win on Saturday in the consolation bracket of Flight B.

For doubles play in the tournament, sophomore Teddy van Eck (Rye, N.Y.) and Walker won their first match, 8-7 (6) before falling to eventual champion Buffalo, 8-4.

The Bears next compete in nearby Smithfield, R.I. at the Bryant Invitational Friday, Nov. 2 through Sunday, Nov. 4.
