
Gymnastics' Morant Wins ECAC Gymnast of the Week for Second Time

DANBURY, Conn. – Senior Caroline Morant won ECAC Gymnast of the Week honors for the second time this season after tying the school record on floor as part of the Bears' trip to the state of Missouri, the Eastern College Athletic Conference announced on Tuesday.
A native of Chicago, Ill., Morant matched the program record with a 9.925 on floor at the GymQuarters Invitational on Friday, joining Olympian Alicia Sacramone and Dnaielle Hoffman as the program record holders. She came in third in the all-around with a 38.975 while tallying a 9.775 on bars, a 9.675 on beam, and a 9.650 on vault.
In a tri-meet at Lindenwood on Sunday, Morant placed second in the all-around with a 39.025 while posting a 9.850 on floor, 9.750 on vault, 9.750 on bars, and 9.675 on beam.
For the season, Morant ranks first in the ECAC, fourth in the Northeast Region, and tied for 38th in the nation with a 38.855 RQS in the all-around.
She helped Brown register a season-high 193.350 team score at the GymQuarters Invitational on Friday.
Morant and the Bears next compete in the Ivy Classic at Yale with Penn and Cornell on Saturday, Feb. 25 at 1:00 p.m.
