
Women's Tennis Defeats Boston College, 4-2

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Brown women's tennis team defeated Boston College, 4-2 on Friday night. After trailing 2-0, the Bears won four singles matches to take the win.
The Eagles won the doubles point with wins in first and third doubles to start the match with a 1-0 lead.
After dropping the first singles match, the Bears went on to win four singles matches en route to the 4-2 team victory. Junior Alyza Benotto (Los Angeles, Calif.) came back to win her second singles match, 2-6, 6-2, 7-5. Junior Maddie Stearns (Short Hills, N.J.) followed in the third spot, winning 7-5, 6-2. Next, freshman Devon Jack (San Marino, Calif.) took the fourth singles match, 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 and sophomore Katie Ta (Mission Viejo, Calif.) sealed the win for Brown with a 6-3, 7-5 showing in fifth singles.
The Bears next travel to Syracuse, N.Y. to take on the Orange on Sunday, Feb. 19 for a 11:00 a.m. match.
