
St. Francis-Brooklyn Rallies For 77-74 Win Over Brown

Brooklyn Heights, N.Y. – Rasheen Dunn scored 23 points and Jalen Jordan added 22 points to rally St. Francis-Brooklyn (1-2) to its first win of the season, 77-74, over Brown at the Pope Physical Education Center, sending the Bears (2-1) to their first loss of the young season. Brandon Anderson's 21 points paced the Bears.
Brown knotted the score, 66-66, on two free throws by sophomore guard Zach Hunsaker (Orem, UT) with 3:56 left in the game, and grabbed a 69-68 lead on a Brandon Anderson (Mahwah, NJ) trey with 3:13 left on the clock.
The Terriers took the lead for good, 70-69, with 2:18 left on two free throws by Rasheem Dunn, followed by a Jalen Jordan trey for a 73-69 lead with 1:19 remaining.
Anderson's two free throws drew Brown to within one point, 75-74, with 33.5 seconds remaining. Glenn Sanabria hit two free-throws for St. Francis, the last with 4.5 seconds left, for a 77-74 Terrier lead.
Anderson had a chance to tie the game at the buzzer, but his 30-foot trey was off the mark.
Anderson scored 14 of his team high 21 points in the second half and has now scored 20 or more points in all three Brown games. Hunsaker scored 15 points and pulled down seven rebounds, both career highs
Bears' freshman Desmond Cambridge (Nashville, TN) chipped in with 10 points and four rebounds, and sophomore forward Josh Howard (Charlotte, NC) added eight points and seven rebounds.
Dunn connected on 8-of-18 field goals for his 23 points, grabbed six rebounds and handed out six assists for the Terriers. Jordan did most of his damage from beyond the 3-point arc, connecting on 6-of-11 treys and 8-of-15 field goals overall. Darelle Porter posted a double-double for the Terriers with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
The Terriers had a 36-33 rebounding advantage and connected on 10-of-27 treys.
Hunsaker's three-point play at the 5:45 mark of the opening half gave the Bears a 27-25 lead, that was extended to 29-25 after a tip-in by senior Jason Massey with 5:06 left in the half.
St. Francis went on a 17-5 run to end the half with a 3-point barrage by Jordan to grab a 42-34 lead at intermission. Jordan connected on all three of his 3-pont attempts in the streak.
The Bears pulled to within two points, 51-49, on a Hunsaker layup at the 15:06 mark of the second half, but the Terriers pulled ahead by 10 points, 61-51, on a three-point play by Dunn with 11:32 left.
The Bears travel to Stony Brook, NY for a matchup against Stony Brook on Thanksgiving Eve, Wednesday, November 22 at 6:00 pm.
