
Women's Tennis Falls 4-0 at No. 12 Miami

CORAL GABLES, Fla. - The Brown women's tennis team was defeated by No. 12 Miami, 4-0, on Saturday at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center. A team of senior Dayna Lord (Bloomfield, Conn.) and junior Alyza Benotto (Los Angeles, Calif.) won their first doubles match on the day.
The Hurricanes opened the match with a win in second doubles before the No. 45 ranked team of Lord and Benotto won their first doubles contest 7-6 (7-5). Miami won the doubles point with a tight 7-6 (7-2) victory over freshmen Devon Jack (San Marino, Calif.) and Juliana Simon (Los Angeles, Calif.) in the third spot.
Miami used its power to take the match with No. 6 Sinead Lohan and No. 70 Estela Perez-Somarriba picking up wins in first and third singles, respectively.
The Bears next face South Alabama in Coral Gables, Fla. on Sunday, Jan. 29 at 10:00 a.m.
