
Elvin Named ECAC Goaltender of the Week

ALBANY, N.Y. – Brown women's hockey senior Monica Elvin (Oakland, Calif.) was named ECAC Goaltender of the Week after she averaged a 1.01 goals-against average and a .966 save percentage in two games over the weekend.
Elvin tallied 38 saves against Harvard on Friday night and came back the following day to post 19 saves in her first career shutout and a 1-0 win over Dartmouth, Brown's first victory over the Big Green since March 4, 2006.
The netminder leads the Bears in starts this season with 14 and has nine 30+ save performances.
In addition to Elvin winning Goaltender of the Week, Brown has had two other student-athletes earned ECAC honors, with freshman Sena Hanson (New Brighton, Minn.) and Alley Rempe (Calgary, Alberta) named Rookie of the Week on Jan. 10 and Oct. 25, respectively.
The Bears will next play in a home-and-home series against Yale on Friday, Jan. 27 and Saturday, Jan. 28. Friday's game will be played at Ingalls Rink at 6:00 p.m. while Saturday's puck drop at Meehan Auditorium will be at 3:00 p.m.
