PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown men's tennis team will open up the spring season on Saturday, Jan. 21, hosting William & Mary for a 10:00 a.m. match at the Pizzitola Sports Center. The Bears next welcome Buffalo the following day, Sunday, Jan. 22, at 12:00 p.m. Brown will be led by first-year head coach Tim Gray and will have its first six matches at home.
Brown returns junior Peter Tarwid (Lake Forest, Ill.) who earned First Team All-Ivy honors last season. Tarwid led the team last year in singles wins with 19. Senior Gregory Garcia (Poway, Calif.) also looks to make an impact this season after winning six matches in the first singles slot a year ago.
Freshmen Peter Litsky (St. Petersburg, Fla.) and Jacob Walker (Bethesda, Md.) will also look to contribute after combining to rank 18th in the Winter Recruiting Class Rankings for the Class of 2016 by the Tennis Recruiting Network.
In the middle of the season, after traveling to Virginia Beach, Va. to play VCU and Old Dominion (March 18-19), the Bears return home to host Louisiana-Lafayette before opening conference action on the road at Harvard (April 7).
