2015 Review
Brown put together another standout season in 2015, when the varsity took fourth at both the IRA National Championship and the Eastern Sprints. Brown had three boats reach the grand finals at IRAs, while the Bears also placed fourth overall in the standings for the Jim Ten Eyck Memorial Trophy, awarded to the school with the most team points. Brown placed 15 members on the IRA All-Academic Team, tied for the most heavyweight selections among Ivy League schools along with Dartmouth and second-most within the entire association.
Bruno In the Fall
Brown earned a victory in the Men's Club 8 at the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta, and then placed seventh out of 27 crews in the Men's Championship 8, which consisted of participating schools as well as international crews. Brown also picked up a first-place finish at the Head of the Housatonic and concluded the fall season with a second-place finish at the Foot of the Charles.
Brown vs. Yale
Brown earned a pair of victories in the JV and Freshman/3V races in last year's meeting between the two schools, but the Bulldogs won the varsity race to claim the inaugural Albert Cup. Yale won the varsity race at the 2015 Eastern Sprints, but missed the grand final at the IRA Championship, placing first in the petite final.
Brown vs. BU
Saturday's race will mark the 57th meeting in the storied history between the two schools, dating back to 1959, but the first duel race since the 2014 season. BU was sixth at Eastern Sprints last year and went on to take second in the petite final at the IRA Championship.
