
Women's Hockey to Visit Harvard and Dartmouth

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's hockey team continues ECAC play and will travel to Harvard on Friday, Feb. 5 for a 7:00 p.m. contest and then to Dartmouth on Saturday, Feb. 6 for a 4:00 p.m. game. Both games will be streamed on the Ivy League Digital Network.

SCOUTING HARVARD
The Crimson enter the weekend having lost their last game, a 8-0 decision to the top-ranked Boston College Eagles on Tuesday, Feb. 2 in the Beanpot Tournament at Boston University. Harvard split last weekend in a 1-0 loss to No. 4/4 Quinnipiac on Friday, Jan. 29 and a 4-1 win over No. 9/9 Princeton on Saturday, Jan. 30. Senior Miye D'Oench leads the team in points with team-bests in both goals (11) and assists (14). Senior Emerance Maschmeyer has appeared in and started 17 games, putting together a 1.83 goals against average and .943 save percentage for eight wins. So far this season the Crimson are 9-2-1 at home, including 7-1-1 against ECAC opponents. Harvard is the least penalized team in the ECAC, occurring 140 minutes. The team's penalty kill is tied for the fewest goals allowed in league play (5) and ranks second in penalty kill percentage (91.9%).
SCOUTING DARTMOUTH
After starting the season with a 2-1 upset over then No. 5/5 Harvard, followed later by a 3-3 tie against Clarkson, the Big Green earned a 10/10 ranking by the USCHO.com and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Polls. Dartmouth has struggled since and enters Saturday's game winless in their last 14 contests (0-13-1). Last weekend the Big Green competed against No. 9/9 Princeton on Friday, Jan. 29, falling 4-1, before being edged by No. 4/4 Quinnipiac, 2-1, on Saturday, Jan. 30. Individually, Dartmouth is led by senior Laura Stacey, who has a team-high 19 points, on eight goals and a team-best 11 assists. Senior Lindsey Allen leads the squad in goals with nine, and has four assists for 13 points. Junior goalie Robyn Chemago has appeared in net 20 games, starting 19, and has put together a 2.48 goals against average and a .918 save percentage. Chemago ranks third in the ECAC with 551 total saves on the season. Three of the Big Green's four win this season have come at home.
BROWN VS. HARVARD THIS SEASON
The Bears were defeated by No. 9/9 Harvard, 5-1, on Nov. 7 at Meehan Auditorium. Sophomore Sam Donovan scored the lone goal for Brown in the third period. For the second straight game, the Bears skated to a 0-0 score in the first period. Sydney Daniels, Lexie Laing, Audrey Warner, Briana Mastel and Kate Hallett scored for the Crimson. Sophomore goalie Julianne Landry registered 41 saves, which included 16 alone in the third period, while Molly Tissenbaum of Harvard recorded 22 stops. In a game of few penalties, Harvard capitalized on its lone opportunity, going 1-for-1 on the power play while Brown went 0-for-2. The Crimson tallied 46 shots to the Bears' 23.
BROWN VS. DARTMOUTH THIS SEASON
The Bears were defeated by Dartmouth, 4-0, on Nov. 6 at Meehan Auditorium. Brown's defense held tight in the first period, producing a 0-0 result going into the first intermission. Dartmouth opened the scoring in the following period, recording three of its four goals in the stanza en route to its win. Kennedy Ottenbreit, Laura Stacey (PP & EV) and Alyssa Baker recorded goals for Dartmouth. For the contest, junior netminder Monica Elvin came away with 34 saves while Robyn Chemago stopped 22 shots. Brown was 0-for-5 on the power play while Dartmouth was 1-for-2. The Big Green held the overall shot advantage at 38-22.
CURRENT BROWN GOAL LEADERS VS. HARVARD AND DARTMOUTH
Sophomore Sam Donovan is the only current Bears who has scored against the Crimson and the Big Green, with one goal against each opponent. Donovan's goal against Harvard came this season (Nov. 7) in a 5-1 loss while her Dartmouth goal came in a 4-3 defeat last year (Feb. 6).
MICHOLSON JOINS THE CENTURY TEAM
Senior Kelly Micholson has appeared in 101 career games and suited up for her 100th game at Yale on Friday, Jan. 29. The defender has played in every game this year and in the 2014-15 season. In her career, Micholson has only missed seven games.
LAST TIME OUT
The Bears went 0-2-0 in a home-and-home series with Yale.
At Yale, the Bulldogs scored goals in the first and second period before tacking on two in the third en route to their 4-1 win. Junior Maddie Woo scored the lone goal for the Bears in the third. Junior Erin Conway and freshman Abby Niewchas assisted the score. The game marked Micholson's 100th career game as a Bear. Junior Monica Elvin concluded the contest with 31 saves. Yale finished the game with a 35-21 advantage in shots and was 1-for-4 on the power play, while Brown was 1-for-6.
At Brown, Yale scored two goals in each period to defeat Brown 6-3. Junior Maddie Woo recorded two goals for the Bears and sophomore Sam Donovan registered two assists. It is the second straight game Woo has scored a goal and third-straight game she has recorded a point. Brown finished the game with the overall shot advantage in a 30-28 edge. Each team had four power-play chances with Yale capitalizing on three and Brown on two. Sophomore Julianne Landry wrapped up the game with 22 saves.
NEXT UP
The Bears will return home for their final weekend at Meehan Auditorium for the 2015-16 season, hosting Cornell on Friday, Feb. 12 for a 7:00 p.m. puck drop and then welcoming Colgate on Saturday, Feb. 13 for a 4:00 p.m. contest. Saturday will be the team's Senior Day with a brief ceremony to honor seniors Hunter Davis, Kelly Micholson and Alli Rolandelli prior to the start of the game.
