
Men's Tennis Edged 4-3 at Elon

ELON, N.C. – The Brown men's tennis team was defeated by Elon, 4-3, on Friday. Junior Gregory Garcia (Poway, Calif.), freshman Charles Tan (Austin, Texas) and sophomore Aaron Sandberg (Hudson, Ohio) captured wins on the day for the Bears.
For doubles play, Garcia and Sandberg started Brown off on the right foot with a quick 6-0 win in second doubles, but Elon was able to capture the overall point with victories in first and third doubles.
Garcia then went on to win first singles, 6-2, 6-4 while his doubles' teammate Sandberg also won his match (sixth singles), 6-3, 7-6 (8-6). Tan captured fifth singles 6-3, 6-7 (5-7), 6-2 for the final singles win for the squad.
The Bears will compete again on Sunday, February 28 at UNC Wilmington for a noontime match, but Brown could not capture the doubles point, falling in first and third.
