
Men's Tennis Falls at UNC Wilmington, 5-2

WILMINGTON, N.C. – The Brown men's tennis team was defeated at UNC Wilmington, 5-2, on Sunday. Sophomore Peter Tarwid (Lake Forest, Ill.) and freshman Charles Tan (Austin, Texas) recorded individual victories on the day for the Bears.
Tarwid and freshman Mladen Mitak (Zagreb, Croatia) won first doubles, 6-2, but UNC Wilmington was victorious in second and third doubles to take the point.
In singles play, junior Gregory Garcia (Poway, Calif.) fought tough in first singles against No. 120 Santtu Leskinnen, but fell 6-3, 6-4. Tarwid posted a singles win in the third spot, 7-5, 6-1. Tan was the last Bear victor, winning his fifth singles match, 7-5, 6-2.
The Bears will next travel to Des Moines, Iowa to compete against Drake on Friday, March 11 (6:00 p.m.). Brown will play again the following day versus Wisconsin at Drake, on Saturday, March 12 (1:00 p.m.).
