
Men's Hockey Travels to Army West Point on Saturday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown men's hockey team will wrap up a four-game road swing this weekend when the Bears visit Army West Point on Saturday (7 PM) for a non-conference contest at Tate Rink. Links to live video and live stats will be available at www.brownbears.com.

Last Time Out
Brown dropped a non-conference matchup with Maine on Saturday, falling 5-1 in Portland. The Black Bears held a one-goal lead after two periods and then scored three in the third to seal the win. Sam Lafferty scored the lone goal for the Bears for his team high ninth point of the season. Tim Ernst made 24 saves in the loss before Connor Maher came in for the second half of the third and made three stops.
Scouting Army West Point
Army West Point (6-5-1) most recently dropped a pair of games at RIT last weekend, including an overtime loss, and will host AIC on Friday before the Bears on Saturday. Rookie forward Dominic Franco leads the team in points (10) and assists (7) in addition to a +9 rating, while Conor Andrle has a team high six goals. Parker Gahagen has played every minute in net and enters the weekend with a .934 save percentage and a 1.83 GAA. West Point leads Atlantic Hockey in penalty kill percentage, clocking in at 90.8 percent.
Brown vs. Army All-Time
Brown leads the all-time series with Army, dating back to the 1933-34 season, by a 26-17-3 margin. The two teams last met two years ago during the 2014-15 season, when Brown won on the road, 4-2, in the season opener. Current Bears Max Willman, Davey Middleton and Charlie Corcoran all scored in the victory.
Common Opponents
Brown and West Point have squared off against one common opponent this season as both teams faced Colgate. Army played the Raiders to a 2-2 draw, while the Bears topped the ECAC foe at home, 4-2.
Facing Off
Rookie Brent Beaudoin leads the team in faceoff percentage, checking in at 52 percent, while Sam Lafferty has a team high 78 faceoff wins.
Helping Out
Sam Lafferty leads the Bears with eight assists and heads into the weekend with a team best 0.89 assists per game. Lafferty also ranks second in assist scoring (1.33 APG) in ECAC contests. He set a career high with three helpers in the loss at Union (11/5).

After this weekend, the Bears will return to ECAC play with a pair of home games against Union (12/9) and RPI (12/10).
