
Men's Hockey Visits Clarkson, No. 20 SLU This Weekend

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown men's hockey team will head to the North Country this weekend when the Bears visit Clarkson on Friday and No. 20 St. Lawrence on Saturday. Both games will start at 7 PM. Links to live video and live stats will be available at www.brownbears.com.

Brown split a pair of home games last weekend, falling to Cornell, 4-2, before topping Colgate, 4-2, the next day. Trey Dodd and Max Willman both scored in the loss against the Big Red, while Gavin Nieto made 19 saves over two periods in the loss. Brown had four different scorers in the win over Colgate and Tim Ernst made 22 saves in net for the win. Tyler Bird and Charlie Corcoran had one goal and one assist, while Willman and Conner Wynne also scored. Sam Lafferty and Max Gottlieb had two assists apiece.
Scouting Clarkson
Clarkson (6-5-1, 3-1-0) is riding a three-game winning streak after the Knights swept RPI and Union last weekend. Jordan Boucher is the team's leading scorer with seven goals and 12 points in 12 games. Rookie Devin Brosseau leads the team with nine assists in 11 contests. Jake Kielly is the reigning ECAC goalie of the week after leading Clarkson to a sweep of the Capital District, posting a 1.50 GAA and a .951 save percentage in two games. He has five wins on the season, including one shutout, with a .913 save percentage. Clarkson checks in at 14.9 percent on the power play and 87.3 percent on the PK.
Brown vs. Clarkson All-Time
Brown and Clarkson have met 90 times, with the Golden Knights leading the all-time series, 63-19-8. The two teams split the two-game series last season as each side held serve at home.
Scouting St. Lawrence
No. 20 St. Lawrence (6-4-2, 3-0-1) is unbeaten over its last five games and most recently tied Union and beat RPI last weekend. Senior defenseman Gavin Bayreuther, a First Team All-ECAC selection last season, leads the Saints with nine assists and 14 points. Joe Sullivan leads the way with six goals. Kyle Hayton, the former ECAC Rookie of the Year, is 6-3-2 in goal and has a .926 save percentage and a 2.35 goals-against average. SLU is ranked 11th in the conference on the power play (5.9%), but third in scoring defense, limiting opponents to 2.58 goals per game.
Brown vs. St. Lawrence All-Time
Brown and St. Lawrence have met 84 times, with the Saints leading the all-time series, 45-28-11. Brown went 0-1-1 against the Saints last season, picking up a draw at home.
Power Surge
Brown scored three power-play goals in the win over Colgate (11/12), achieving the feat for the first time since the 2013-14 season. Brown ranks third in the ECAC in power play scoring overall (18.5) and tied for first in conference games (27.8).
Juniors Lead The Way
Brown's eight-player junior class is responsible for 60 percent of the team's point scoring. Charlie Corcoran and Sam Lafferty pace the group with six points apiece.
Three In A Row
Junior Max Willman has scored in three straight games heading into the game at Clarkson, including power-play goals against Cornell and Colgate.

After this weekend, the Bears will take a break from conference play to visit Maine in Portland (11/26).
