Senior captain Sophie Bikofsky was recognized before the game as Brown's record holder in career three-pointers.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – A balanced attack led by six players scoring in double figures paced the #16/18 Princeton Tigers to an 86-58 win over the Brown women's basketball team at the Pizzitola Sports Center on Friday night.
With the win, the Tigers remain the lone undefeated women's basketball team in the nation, improving to 22-0 (6-0 Ivy), while Brown drops to 9-12 (3-4 Ivy).
Sophie Bikofsky (Newton, Mass.) added 12 points and five rebounds for the Bears, while junior Jordin Alexander (Fishers, Ind.) chipped in with 11 points and three steals.
Despite early foul trouble, Kennedy Martin (Los Angeles, Calif.) and Megan Reilly each netted eight points, with Reilly added a game high five assists in the process.
Ellise Sharpe (Tipp City, Ohio), the reigning Ivy League Co-Player of the Week, added eight points and three rebounds in 16 minutes of action for the Bears.
The Bears struggled to contain one of the Ivy League's top scorers in Blake Dietrick, as the Wellesley, Massachusetts native posted 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field in the first half. She finished the night with a game high 18 points and seven rebounds.
The physical Tigers team got to the line 20 times in the opening half, while the Bears could only muster three attempts from the charity stripe.
Brown rushed out to an 8-6 lead thanks to Sharpe, Reilly, and Martin before the Tigers rallied to grab a 16-13 lead with 12:50 to play. From there, Princeton seized control with a 13-0 run thanks to Mariah Smith's strong play off the bench, as she tallied eight points and three rebounds in eight minutes of action.
Bikofsky added all of her seven first half points in the final minutes, but Dietrick's three-point play with 28 seconds left gave the visitors a 51-31 lead entering the locker room.
The Bears started off the second half strong with a 9-4 run thanks to contributions from Bikofsky, Alexander, and Martin, but Brown couldn't muster a rally to draw close to the unblemished Tigers.
A late trey by Taylor Brown gave the visitors their largest cushion of the night at 30 with just over a minute to play. Leading the NCAA in field-goal percentage, the Tigers continued that trend on Friday, connecting on 29-of-60 attempts from the field (.483).
Sophomore KJ Veldman (Spirit Lake, Iowa) chipped in with a season best four points, while freshman Savannah Johnson (Fort Washington, Md.) also got on the scoresheet with two points and a career high four steals.
Rookie Maxine Offiaeli (South Windsor, Conn.) posted her first career assist on Friday.
Brown is right back at it on Saturday night, playing host to the Penn Quakers beginning at 6 p.m.
