NEW YORK – Sophomore Natalie Schudrowitz (Milwaukee, Wis.) placed 12th overall to lead the Brown women's cross country team to a fourth-place finish at the 2015 Ivy League Heptagonal Championship Friday morning at Van Cortlandt Park in New York City.
Brown had three top-20 finishers and finished fourth overall with 109 total points, while Princeton claimed the title with 60 points.
It was a strong team performance for the women," said Tim Springfield, Director of Track & Field/Cross Country. "They fought hard and did a great job executing the game plan that Coach Baker laid out for them. When you beat two teams by 5 points, every effort matters."
Schudrowitz continued her impressive sophomore campaign as she completed the 6-kilometer course in a time of 21:45.2 for Second Team All-Ivy honors. Junior Taylor Worthy (Medfield, Mass.) and rookie Carleen Jeffers (Ridgewood, N.J.) both finished inside the top 20 at 16th and 17th, respectively, in times of 21:54.5 and 21:57.4, while Jeffers was also the top freshman in the field.
Junior Lucy Van Kleunen (Philadelphia, Pa.) turned in a 26-place finish at 22:07.8 before senior Victoria O'Neil (Boise, Idaho) crossed at 38th in 22:22.7.
Megan Ratcliffe (Carlisle, Mass.) and Quinn Bornstein (Peacham, Vt.) finished the course in times of 22:31.2 and 22:34.0, respectively.
Brown returns to action in two weeks for the NCAA Northeast Regional, which will take place on Friday, Nov. 13 at Franklin Park in Boston.
