Cross Country Hosts Rothenberg Run

WARWICK, R.I. – The Brown women's cross country team finished first overall as the Bears hosted the 33rd Annual Rothenberg Run Friday afternoon at Goddard State Park.
The Brown women's team placed first out of six teams with 43 points, while the men's side placed sixth out of eight teams with 146 points. Brown hosted Connecticut, Stony Brook, Harvard, Dartmouth, Vermont, Hofstra and Rhode Island at the meet.
Sophomore Clare Peabody (Aptos, Calif.) turned in a second-place finish as she completed the 5-kilometer course in a time of 17:39.9. Sophomore Quinn Bornstein (Peacham, Vt.) was not far behind as she placed fourth overall at 17:44.1, while Charlotte Walmsley (Weston, Mass.) also posted a top-10 finish at eighth in a time of 17:51.6.
Rookie Lucy Srour (Potomac, Md.) and sophomore Alexis Van Pernis (Kailua Kona, Hawaii) finished 15th and 16th, respectively, in times of 18:08.09 and 18:12.0.
On the men's team, Luke Muzikowski (Chicago, Ill.) and Andrew Foerder (Seattle, Wash.) placed 12th and 13th, respectively, as the duo completed the 8-kilometer course at 25:30.0 and 25:35.05. Andrew Coggins (La Grange, Ga.) crossed in a time of 26:10.7, followed by Tyler Smith (Vernon Hills, Ill.) at 26:31.5 and Ben Sutherland (High Wycombe, England) at 27.01.0.
Brown will compete at the Louisville Pre Nationals tomorrow at E.P. Tom Sawyer Park.
